The company was incorporated in Liberia in 1998 and established its headquarters in Athens, Greece pursuant to the provisions of Greek Law 89/67 focusing on broking within the oil tanker chartering segment.

At the end of 2008 the company took advantage of the depressed freight market by chartering-in a series of Handy-sized oil-product tankers on its own account. These vessels were then traded on the spot market over their charter period and outperformed the prevailing period market.

Today the company’s main focus is expanding its managed and time-chartered-in fleet of oil-products and LPG tanker(s).

COMMERCIAL

R Shipping provides to its principals, the owners of ocean-going vessels, commercial services including chartering and vessel operations.

Our chartering team identifies and assesses employment opportunities, negotiates and concludes fixtures. The vessels are chartered to major oil companies and commodity traders around the world, both on the spot market and on long-term charters.

The operations team is responsible for: supporting the officers and crew onboard to execute the voyage safely and efficiently; monitoring and paying port dues; procuring high quality bunkers in an economical manner; and collecting the freight and other revenue pursuant to the charter parties.

TECHNICAL

R Shipping operates all managed vessels in the safest and most efficient manner possible in order to meet the requirements of shipowners, flag states, port states, class societies, charterers and other stakeholders in full compliance with the International Safety Management Code.

Our purchasing team ensures that procurement of stores and spare parts is undertaken effectively to meet the high quality fleet requirements while managing associated costs.
